I'm a Winter Girl. I know many of you prefer a sunny hot beach, but give me a mountain cabin with a roaring fire, a comfy chair and a good book, with soft quiet snow falling outside, and I'm in Heaven on Earth. That is my vision for the future. Of course, if I have to get out and drive in it, that's another story. One of my favorite Christmas memories is my daughter, Stacie's senior year when we spent the holiday in Winter Park, CO. No, I don't ski. Stacie didn't take to it either. I tried twice, on Campus Life trips in high school. That was enough falling down for me. But I adore being in the mountains in winter. Our favorite thing that year was sliding down the big hill on an inner tube. Now that was fun! Stacie and I watched our skiing friends, including her dad, for a while, but then we went back to the room and had a blast decorating with whatever we found in the gift shop. The Bible talks about snow. It says our sins can be washed as whiter than snow, that the Father's robe is as white as snow, and how when Jesus comes back, he'll also be wearing a robe white as snow. There is even a mention of snow on a mountain in Israel. The Macs, our family trio, sang together for nine years. Our testimony song was "I Came to Love You Early" by Sue C. Smith. My love for snow and the holiday season is partly because it was on Christmas morning when I was eight years old that I asked Jesus into my heart and life. On the night before Thanksgiving, when Stacie was only four, she did the same. My second book, written after Stacie moved to Heaven in 2012, recounts both of those days and the years after. This is our testimony book. It's my desire in sharing stories and songs that my Jesus will become your Jesus. Or if you already know Him, to encourage you in your daily walk with the Lord.
