Whether we call it Quiet Time, Devotions, Prayer Closet, or Bible Study, we believers need to slow down and connect with our Heavenly Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit on a regular basis. I began this habit as young camper at Stoney Crest Bible Ranch in Ozawkie, KS and it stuck because I discovered the value even then. Since I began writing my Tresia series, I call it my Kingdom Corner Time. It's how I want and need to start my day. Today I want to feature a new book about faith and quiet time, soon to be released, written by Rosie J. Williams, a friend of mine from Kansas. Rosie and I knew each other through Youth For Christ and church. Her dad, Andy Anderson, ran the local Bible Supply store in Topeka, KS, and my mom was in there a lot! We lost touch when I moved to North Carolina, but through Facebook, Rosie and I re-connected, and discovered we were now both antique enthusiasts and writers. We recently met at the Blue Ridge Mountain Christian Writer's Conference in Asheville, NC. I discovered that her first solo devotional book will be out in October. I'm excited for her and happy to share in her Book Launch. Here's a glimpse into what you will find in Rosie's book: Repurposed Faith: Breathing New Life Into Your Quiet Time. Whatever happened to the days when you couldn't wait to sit down and read your Bible? When prayer flowed easily and powerfully? When you felt engaged and active in your spiritual life? Now, like so many Christians, your zeal may have faded without explanation, and you're left watching from the sidelines as others thrive in their personal walk with Christ. What happened? Life has a way of shaking us up, cluttering our priorities, and shifting our focus. When this occurs, our walk with the Lord is often disrupted. One morning, you wake up and realize there are only embers where once a spiritual fire roared. If you've found yourself in this place, don't be discouraged! Repurposed Faith is designed to refresh and redirect your priorities back to Christ and His Word. Through intentionally-written illustrations and real-life stories, you will be prompted to search your heart for the roadblocks that have come between you and meaningful time with the Lord. From there, you will be guided back to a place where you connect and glorify God. Why continue in apathy, deprived of the intimacy and boundless joy of reconnecting with God on a daily basis? Take this moment to repurpose yourself and your faith. Rosie and her husband, Steve, also have a military ministry to veterans.
