Connections, Then and Again

7/21/2016

I am just a wee bit technically challenged. Have you noticed? I tend to proof read after I post, hit the wrong button, especially on my tiny phone keypad, and when it doesn't work right, I get a little overwhelmed at all this new social media stuff. But I'm learning. One of the best things about blogging, Facebook, and websites is the connections and re-connections one can make and keep. Such is the case with someone who has recently made my life a LOT easier.

Carol Smerchek was one of my daughter, Stacie's best friends growing up in Topeka, KS. They didn't go to the same schools, but spent a lot of time together through church and other activities. (There are many funny stories I could tell, but I will refrain for the sake of several.)
After both graduated from college and Stacie moved to NC, they stayed connected by their girlhood friendship and mutual love for the teaching profession. Stacie was one of Carol's bridesmaids when she became Carol Nelson. Carol would have been one of Stacie's bridesmaids had it come up.

Carol is one of my adopted daughters now, and her two girls, Caity and Ema, I claim as adopted grand-daughters. They are also on my newly formed Youth Advisory Board for my Tresia series. What I didn't know until a couple months ago is that Carol has designed websites. It didn't take me long to sign her up as my new webmaster and she has done a fantastic job revamping my old website. If you're reading this on Facebook and haven't yet, check it out at www.jamcphail.com. Now everything is connected and for those folks who aren't on Facebook, they can now read all my weekly posts from my website!  Amazing! I kind of thought it was supposed to work that way, but Carol has plugged everything together the way it should be. I'm still learning in spite of my personal tutorial at Barnes and Noble when we were in Topeka recently. But I'll get it.

Besides the Facebook posts, there are coloring pages to download for kids and grandkids. Soon there will be coloring pages from my own books'  illustrators, but in the mean time you can connect directly to my NC friend, Samantha Bell's website. She'll even teach you how to draw, and she has wonderful contests!

If you've read the first book in the Tresia series, you'll know about Kingdom Corners. If not, you can see photos of mine and learn how to create your own right on my website. You can read all about me, my books, and find links to some of my friends in the writing, music, and health and wellness fields. And there is a link to Carol's technology page, too.
I hope you'll visit soon and see what a great job Carol did. Thanks, Carol! You are a Godsend for many reasons.

The best connections are Divine Connections.
